Guernica, by Pablo Picasso
This time, let me talk about what I feel when I first saw the painting Guermica By Pablo Picasso
(https://www.pablopicasso.org/guernica.jsp#)
First, I notice that this painting is not so colorful like most of the works by Picasso. It's almost black and white. The background is totally dark. The figures are close to white color.
When I watch the figures on the canvas, I shiver by the painful and desperate faces and the body movements. All the people and the animals are stretching their necks, opening their mouths. Some one already died. A woman is holding her dead kid yelling to the sky. The painting shows painful, desperation and anger.
After reading the context of this work, I know that Guernica is a town in the province of Biscay in Basque Country. The painting is about the War and intense aerial bombardment. I can feel it is an effective anti-war message. It shows: No more war! People want peace!
I like this painting, but I'm afraid I won't want to see it at the Reina Sofia Museum. Because it has a big size and shows so painful. I'd rather see something happier.

Min I think you are right, this picture shows a lot things. When I look at this painting I see that there are people that seem to be dead or dying. After looking closer than you can see people in the painting. There is a woman that has her head back and she is screaming. It looks like she is holding a baby. Everywhere there are people who are wounded or dead. The bodies seem to be mutilated. There is also a horse whose mouth is open. It looks like he is screaming. Everywhere in the painting there is problems. Everyone seems to be in pain. This painting makes me feel a little depressed. I can see that everyone is sad and the scene looks very sad and terrifying
