Aspiration by Aaron Douglas
This week we have to talk about the painting Aspiration by Aaron Douglas. When I first saw it, I felt it was a poster. The simple shapes of the features, and the analogous colors, make it like a simple poster. But when I look at it carefully, I can find there are some details are worth to learn. Like the shape of the people, you can easily recognize that they are African-american, the artist know what the features of the African has. And from the posture of the people in the painting, I can feel they are all very proud of themselves. Yes, they should be. They design and build the buildings of the cities. They also do a lot of things for the cities. They need to be respected like any other nations. The artist shows their self-confidence. It can encourage more and more African-American be a valuable person to the world.
